The 35-year-old from Sakhon Nakhon played for the Thai national team for 14 years. Formerly known as "Kosin", Sinthaweechai played for Thailand at the U17 World Cup in 1999 before receiving a call-up to the senior national team in 2003. "To play for the national team had been my dream since I was young. "I was shocked when I first heard that Sinthaweechai was quitting the national team," said Pol Gen Somyot. As a national team star, Sinthaweechai played under 11 coaches including Peter Withe, Carlos Roberto Carvalho, Peter Reid, Bryan Robson, Winfried Schaefer, Kiatisak Senamuang and Milovan Rajevac.
